It would seem that treaty games are being played more often. Anybody got some good strats? I like Turks (jans, bombards and spahi's) teamed with Russians (orps.)

ive been looking into the treaty games online and what other people say and stuff like that... and it all depends on what the nr is.

ottomans= terrible at nr games, no way to stop raids and are extremely slow!

I don't think the Ottomans are the worst for NR games at all because they have a killer late game economy and units... that award might have to go to the Iroquois or the Spanish who have terrible late game units and economies. The Dutch are also seen as one of the weaker NR civs because of the 50 peasant limit. Josh is right though, it depends how long it is.

i dont know about iroquious but i KNOW the spanish suck at no rush. Iroquious have awesome 1 pop mantlets. Each having 750 hp. Thats the most hp per unit per cost per pop*breathe* in the game.

Maybe I just play as civs that are really effective against the iroquois, but I've pwned them in all the NR games I've played against them. They just don't have the powerful unit/economy combo to survive the long games. Maybe you could come up with a strat that works with them for NR.

there was a pole on eso regarding the issue of best combos and best treaty civs....
here is as follows for the best treaty civs in a nr 40
French, Russian, Port, Dutch, Brit, Aztec, Spanish, Iroqous, Otto, German(pop bug), Sioux
all depending on the player of course.....BEN

it definately depends on the player. i played ryan on a nr 50. (he asked for an extra 10 mins) and completely owned him. not much to be proud of though. especially since he sent just french ponies and i had spies already which allowed me to have jans and cav archers. when he saw what i had, he quit. then he refused to eat dinner. i told him i would face him as the aztecs later today. he likes ottos now. he was explaining to me how great jans and grenadiers are 5th age and i noticed that he definately DID NOT have advanced arsenal. should i tell him? he did have mosque construction though...

Why are the brits so close to the top? Their 5th age units suck asshole. And yeah, I think you should help Ryan out a bit and make him a non noob.

Patrick, you really shouldn't have resigned either. Even if you lost your factories and Jake lost all his vills, it's really not that crippling to your team as a whole. Josh is good NR when we aren't taking the game too seriously... and Jake might eventually rebuild his base anyway.
Also Josh, I've been thinking. Tim and I make a killer 2v2 treaty team with the Russians and the Dutch, but I think you and I could make an amazing team with the French and Aztecs. You have Skirms, Ponies, and cannons which I lack, and I have heavy infanty, ranged cavalry (eagles), and arrow knights which you lack. Not to mention the fact that we have to two strongest NR economies period.

no, it wasnt my factories and jakes peasants ben, its was my factories and MY peasants that tim was about to rape. I dont really see me getting those back in 5 minutes when it took me 20 in the first place.
