I watched Tayoot, Josh and Tim beat some real bad boys the other night. Tim's rifle riders guarded Tayoot's bombards while Josh's french ponies maulled a guy. Afterwards Tayoot asked Tim how he made the rifle riders when his ecomony sucked. Tim answered his buddies gave him resources. How interesting. Josh and his french settlers have an op economy. Tim's rifle riders beat nearly anything but dagoons which Josh's skrims beat and skrims which the bombards rule. The other team was totalling occupied with the bombards and rifle riders so Josh's french ponies didn't have as much resistance. Pcups your 1v1 battles don't compare in difficulty. We should be thinking of how to integrate the different civs together to get the best overall result and stop arguing about who has the best unit. Although jans are the best unit.

Too bad they weren't playing against the Dutch, the Germans, and the Russians. I can see how that attack is tough to stop, but Ruyters and War Wagons combined with a few dopples could really over-power them in no time... not to mention the fear of trying to overcome 150 ruyters who for only ONE pop are killing WICKED expensive units. Also, how would that combination of civs stand up to my orp raids? It takes Tim 25-30 seconds to even MAKE enough rifles to stop me, and Josh and Tayoot would have nothing fast/strong enough to stop me from wiping them the fuck out in 30-60 seconds. I attack whoever is farthest from Tim's Rifles and their attack, and the ruyters/WW/dopples should be able to slow down their attack big time. I'm certain that I could fuck one of them over FASTER than their attack could over-power my allies... and at that point Tim needs to decide whether he abandons the attack and let's the bombards and ponies bite the bullet, or let's his ally's town fall into rumble. Either way, we win.

Agreed, that WHOLE army is succeptable to War wagons. I could also just build culverins while ben takes down the factories so you cant build any more. And like ben said you werent facing 3 civs that clearly would have an advantage in that battle.
And you try taking down a lt. colonel in 1v1

Patrick is right; I can't see how the Britishs with a noob Russians player were set to beat your kind of an army.
I think this warrents a challenge! Ben (Russians) Patrick (Germans) and Jake (Dutch) against Tim (Sioux) D (Ottomans) and Josh (French). You guys certainly beat people who were "better" than you, so there shouldn't be an issue pwning us. If you want, we can even make it a No Rush giving us an ever further disadvantage to give us time to make these armies for real.
The challenge is on!

I said, "We should be thinking of how to integrate the different civs together to get the best overall result and stop arguing about who has the best unit."
I didn't say this is the best combination of civs. I was saying let's think about what might be the best combo. I also didn't say beating an expert player, 1v1or other, wasn't difficult. I said using many civs and their units complicates things.

Their opponents' ranks were capt and two 2nd Lt. Their ranks were 1st Lt , master sgt and sgt. Tayoot, Josh and Tim were playing higher ranked players - not noobs.

That was the whole point of this... and I'm not pretending that the Russians Germans and Dutch are the best either. I still think the battle will kick ass!

I don't know why I even bother to introduce new thinking in this forum. All it seems to generate is trash talk.

I think you're confusing Trash Talk with Healthy Competition! You don't think those teams would be good?

Good news - Nick has greatly improved his winning per centage by using a grenadier/janissary rush. More good news - Tim and Josh have been winning by using a musketeer/grenadier rush. The best news - D and B have never lost using a grenadier/janissary rush. The bad news - I fear others will soon start adopting this strat.

Good news - The others will probably never find out about these strats because they never read the forum other than P Cups who doesn't play team games. Speaking of which, what ever happened to the Nick/Chris VS. Tim/PCups thing that was supposed to happen? Oh well. We should also try to get Mike and Tayoot to join the forum and contribute.
