Hahahaha, ben thinks that his orps would of actually done something with 20 dragoons around my base. Tim and i were IN D's base when you resigned, i know the game would of been held out for a lot long but you cant think that the two best booming civs would have crumpled easily at all.
Besides, i took tims advice and walled in my factories and put towers around them, with the port building upgrade it ads another 2000 hp to my factories. You werent getting in easily.
Oh and you only killed my fort and ALMOST got my TC, one of four.
And i wasnt doubting your resources. Its just that both tim and i had twice the amount you had. And D's economy deff. wasnt on its best foot.

I reply #13 pcups writes that he will use the portuguese in the rematch. I believe he was the germans. I don't think that would have surely turned the tide in our favor, but he is still not confident enough in them to face us with them 2v2.

^Actually if i had used the ports i probably would have been better off, they are faster than the germans now. And thats what the 2v2 goes for. the fasteriest wins.

All you need is that valuable Russian mortar card to make them cheap, strong, and fast to produce! Too bad it's not a team card. I mean, in a 4v4 game... how do you stop 120 mortars coming at you rapidly for 50 wood and 200 coin? Let's see the Janassaries and Dopples take on THAT!

they could handle it if they got in to attack the mortars. Using motars to take down and army is like using spit wads to take down chuck norris. You just can't do it.

i actually just discovered field guns the other day. i usually build my mills and plantations in a 4:1 ratio but i've started building them closer together. i try for 4:2 if i'm worrying about wood and i still have factories. but i think cannons are really underrated. cannons can kill infantry like its going out of style. the range is a huge advantage. if they are protected the can easily make up for their price. they are also fun to use on outlaw guardians.
they should make an anti cavalry cannon. how would your orps like that ben? my turks wouldn't have to chase you anymore...

The one downfall with cannons is their cost... both in resources and population. However, they certainly do have an advantage with tightly packed infantry, AND they have the advantage of being able to hit and run against Redcoats. The problem with an anti-cavaltry cannon is that what do you use to stop it? Infantry and cavalry wouldn't work cuz of their ranged armor... culvarans might do it but thats pretty damn annoying. Every other unit in the game is good against cavalry, and heavy cavalry is good against nothing. Way OP They should build an Anti-Nick unit known as an Orp

" AND they have the advantage of being able to hit and run against Redcoats."
This made me laugh a lot.
But yea, i usually dont use cannons because of they god damn pop. Might as well use war wagons and skirms. That pretty much takes out everything. With couple dopps to go in as well.

Redcoats are only slower than cannons if you get the Thin Red Line. but that made me laugh too.

See, musketeers are pretty much only good for cannon fotter (literally!). They really aren't good against anything other than cossacks maybe. Ponies trample them, skirms waste them, heavy infantry outruns them, and cannons turn them into a "thin bloody red mess" What a useless unit.

I agree with ben, they only reason they are there is too take hits so your other units dont.
