Yea man, the japs have nice cards. There is a way to unlock them all so you can use them. im not gonna explain it here just go to ages heaven . but japanese are pretty cool.

japan gets a total of 121% upgrade to coin rice and 81% to food rice from HC shipments alone that's on top of the full upgrades they get for standard research = OP!

They are defnitely a German type Civ... strong units and a late boom. However, they can only have 75 vills and all their shit is super expensive!!! There's nothing better than a TEAM Pioneers card too. Imagine a puma/vill rush! LOL!

Yea, japan definitely seems to be week early game. unlike germany, who now have one of the best crossbow/pikemen rush in game (or so seems to be the notion on ages heaven Not really a fast fortress civ, im not sure how they will fair. But only time will tell.

I'm not really a fan of them because of their weird/fucked up economy and slow building/expensive units, but I don't think they'll be a bad civ. It just looks to me like the Chinese and Indians will be much more fun!

I played a game against an "expert" comp today and i got to the 5th age and that when the japanese are most fun. Thats when they get some cool upgrades and cards. So japs are a good late game civ.

Oh Hey! Here's what I have to say about the Japs! Awesome! Team Pinoneers, 8% to everything, OP Econ, if you do it right you can still have any army at 7:00. The cool part is in the commerce building. If you do the isolationist research you will find the build "speed" upgrades. There is a research that allows you to build units in blocks of 10 instead of 5! Wow. ALSO, I think you can advance to age 5 from any ge!!! you need 4000 commerce though and you will lose the ability to build your shrines. Could be interesting though. Anyway, I think that the Japanese are going to turn out to be a great civ.

Remember how I said that japan seems plagued by slow building times for units lategame? The answer is here: Bakufu (age 3 HC shipment) Daimyo and Shogun: train units twice as fast LOS +20 speed +10%

omg guys, I totally forgot about the best card the Chinese have: "Great Wall." It increases wall HP by 100% and decreases train time by 75%. Woo!!!

What I'm saying, Pat, is barracks, stables, and castles will be backup if the daimyos build units twice as fast. You can get three daimyos (heroes that build barracks and stable units and boost attack of nearby units) and one shogun (a hero that builds art. and some of the isolation consulate units and boosts HP of nearby units).
