I have been practicing with the Sioux in treaty games and I am impressed. While their economy definitely isnt the strongest, its military mixed with the war chief, tepees, and many upgrades makes it almost unstoppable. And they are amazing at stopping the fort hop.

You'd obviously have tp play them only in team treaty because 1v1, you would get raided the fuck out with no walls... but the Russians are a nub civ. Why aren't you in school PCups? Are you suffering from SDS?

Hey D, remember how you said you were looking for a use for the Ottomans in treaty? Well, the Sioux have a shitty economy so maybe you could sponsor them and the Dutch while using the rest of your pop to pop out some kick ass horse cannons. Yup yup, that way, the Soiux and the Dutch could spam their awesome units and I as the Aztecs or Russians would not need to hold back because I could build everything I need without sponsoring my allies. Ooo, then what If PCups had 40 dog soldiers blow a hole open in a wall for me to spam my shit into! Wouldn't that be something?

Josh and I figured that with the sioux, you could open up more avenues with team possibilities. Such as a Port, Sioux and Aztec team. That has major potential, and it doesn't even involve russians or french

Rifle riders beat: all heavy cavalry all heavy infantry all artillery abus (if properly microed w/WC) cavalry archers
That leaves only a few units that need to be taken care of by complementary allies. Longbows, abus, or other LI that beat LI and ranged cav could make a killer combo.

Tim, you might wanna list the amount of units that beat rifle riders. Light infrantry is a big one too. It gives the sioux a lot of problems. Sioux need a good ally and not to spam rifle riders, they are pretty expensive and can die fast. Even with massive amounts of damage they should not be used as the bulk of your army. The good thing about the sioux is that you can mix it up constantly with cheaper alternatives. Cetans, wakinas, tashunke, clubs, axe riders. All good units that when used properly can over take ANY army.

Warclubs are probably the most underused Sioux unit. They have just as much seige per pop as grenadiers BEFORE the seige dance is turned on. Additionally, they have 5.0 speed (with a shipment 5.5) and the same net attack vs. cavalry as pikes (better vs. other units). If the warchief iswith them, their speed is 6.25. With another shipment they can do battlefield construction.

I was more impressed with Sioux this recent ages party than the germans. In a game, i had the most resources at the end. probably around 25 thousand more. So what does this say? even though the ports, Germans or who ever the hell else gets to the imp age with 1 billion resources, military is the deciding factor. And the Sioux military is superior to everyone elses. As long as there are tepees.
Tim recently said that the Spanish missionaries are better than the tepees. But if we look at it, its a little worse. For one 20 tepees cost less resources than the 10 missionaries. I know 1000 resource difference doesn't sound like much, but it is still in the Sioux's favor, and even though the missionaries give a whopping 60% bonus to attack, the tepees, although I have never tested but only shown in game play, that tepees give more attack bonus plus the HP bonus that everyone seems to forget about.
I think the Sioux are definitely lacking the economy but they sure as hell make up for in military.
I love warclubs.
