B,T and I played a 20 min treaty against 5 expert computers today. It was interesting. The computers started to lose when I went imperial and had 8 bombards. B & T fought off all 5 for about 5 mins and then it was pay back time.

Ben and I were beating these guys badly in a 4v4, even though we had a kinda noob German ally. But I had to leave, so we ended up losing.

Yeah, Tim had the most units killed even though he resigned 4 or 5 minutes before we stopped playing. I had the most combat XP even though my explorer was never there. Every single person on our team had more resources than any person on their team. Literally we needed like 3 minutes and they would have been drained.
I don't know why the Dutch/Aztec combo works for treaty, but it really does. I think the team vills and wood really helps the Aztecs and the inf HP really really helps me. I just don't lose units anymore, and if we play on Andes, I can stay on attack dance the entire time and just rape everything.

The Dutch team inf HP is really an eco card, because if your units aren't dying, you're going to last a lot longer. With that added eco to the aztec, the aztecs can afford to send the dutch a few extra resources here and there, which keeps the Dutch afloat (with tribute and/or the 1000g shipment). As long as the Dutch can stay at 150 military pop, the Dutch doesn't lose units because the other guy loses his units before the dutch units even take much damage. In that way, a large military can be a little bit of an eco boost. Furthermore, it allows you to always have a full mixture of complimentary units, so you will always have something to beat the other guy.

So the Dutch/Aztec treaty combo is now my favorite thing of all time. Tim and I beat a major (Port) and a 1st (French) yesterday, and it wasn't even close. They both had a score of 2000 going into the treaty in comparison with our 1500, but I was gaining resources throughout the treaty and Tim wasn't losing much. We both had a kill ratio of 1.5-1 which against those civs is nuts. I've gotten much better at firepit micro, changed the order I send my cards, and added wall dance to my deck so that if I get back-doored, it's going to take them 5 minutes of uncontested attacking to get through. I send Tim my resendable gold and in return he does a lot of the forward base stuff and sends me wood on maps that don't have much after the treaty. Solid teamwork by us.

sounds like a very good strategy in team game guys. the aztec wall dance really does it for u especially if u can wall ur allies base up as well. even 2 or 3 layers.

I'll bet! Tim and I were trying to come up with a 15 minute blockade strat with the Dutch and Aztecs on water. It might involve the Aztecs getting to age three and getting their 40% mining card, and the Dutch getting an ass load of boats and banks age one and doing a fast imp. Either that or the Dutch staying age one and maxing banks and boats while the Aztecs fly imperial and blockade before they even get max their vills. Oooo I like it!
