Since the site has been kinda dead i guess ill bring in some new info i learned about recently.
Elephants seem to be rather impressive. The mahout in particular. heres a quote from ages heaven after a guy did the math. people were comparing them to cuirs.
Btw, elephants will get way better than cuirs just because of their high basestats (hp mostly). If elephant gets same amount of hp upgrades as cuirassier does, to reach 1200 hp, elephant will be sitting on 2640 hp
Also need to take in count the indian wonder, that lets you build units with double hp, its not sure if its base hp, but mahouts would end whit 3740 or 5280... If enemy has 14 of those, its basicly same as killing 14 full upgraded warchief whit dance on :/. Have fun killing those ^^
People were unsure whether elephants are useful or not. Well this explains it. Even more than a mamaluke with out the wonder, 10 of these mother fuckers followed by something else? will be a real problem. And if it really is max double hp. then people will really have their hands full.
Even at the fortress age, it takes a cuir 44 hits to kill one mahout. and a mahout 16 hits to kill one cuir. So if two cuirs attacked one mahout the mahout would win.

Holy Fuck... I'll need a fuckload of eagles to stop those bad boys. I wonder if anti cav units like pikemen will get a higher multiplier against elephants. Otherwise you are going to need 10+ anti cav units to take on those bad boys.
I'm trying to comprehend the unbelievable offensive power that a Indian/Aztec/Sioux/Russian combo would have in treaty as well. I can't imagine what they could do with an initial attack of a fort hop, teepee hop, elephant swarm, and 200 pop aztec army after 40 minutes with attack dance and wonders and shit. Good gracious God... we could be generals who win 40 minute treaty games in 45 minutes. Owned.

I know what you mean ben, but there has been no mention what so ever that units will have an attack bonus vs elephants. Besides they are 7 fucking pop.

BHG released them recently
i dont know exactly where people get the stats but they just come to ages heaven and give it out

Yeah, I found the info for all the units on that "Q and A" thing that I posted for the new maps. I'm just sad that you can only build 1 flamethrower per batch. The jan/flame rush looks like it hit the shitter. The Chinese still rock though.

well the order in which the civ people want to play the most is Japan, China, India. Japan seems to be EXTREMELy popular

Hey, just found the stats of this Super dragoon, check it out, its another elephant if you were wondering Howdah 250 Food 350 Coin 7 Pop 800 Hp 0,2 RR RDam 90 16 R 2,3x vs Cav. 1,8x vs Artillery 0,5x vs Villagers 60 Siege damage -A new and upgraded War Wagon with a MEGA DAMAGE vs cavalry, but also very expensive and pop intensive. Another ELEPHANT.

90 attack X 8 against arty is 720! Granted, they will lose 75% at range but even so, that's fucked up. They still can't stand up to my eagles per pop or cost, but they are far more effective against arty. Are they considered heavy and light cav like rifles?

I think light cav, just like war wagons. The es guy said that there is nothing "special" about elephants like rifle riders, they have normal counters.

Ive got some good news! For me, everyone at ages heaven feels that there is going to be an elephant pop reduction card. NOW WAIT, before you scream OP. BHG made the elephants cost 1 more pop than they "should be". Right now, they are kinda unreasonable.
Unlike the cuir which was made for 3 pop and should stay that way, and got a card that it didn't need, ES planned ahead and made an elephant that was TOO much pop.
Everyone is thinking -2 pop, so that way it would be a slight bonus. NOT as big as the cuir bonus but this is just athough, i hope its a facct!

I'm really interested in all the cards that they have for the new civs. I hope they can come up some unique ones that aren't just copies of Europian ones. Maybe they'll have a flaming arrow card for ChuKuNus! I'd wet myself, for real.
